The Rochester Ghost Tour 2027 | Ghosts, Hauntings & History
The French Hospital, Rochester, ME1 1NB
Friday 14th May 2027 7:30PM
Looking for something a little different to do in Rochester?
More than 400 guests have already explored the ghosts, hauntings and mysteries of Rochester's extraordinary past. Now it's your turn…
For centuries, Rochester has been a place of remarkable events, extraordinary characters and stories that refuse to fade into history.
Some are rooted in documented events. Others have been passed down through generations. And a few concern encounters and experiences that remain difficult to explain.
The Rochester Ghost Tour 2027 | Ghosts, Hauntings & History takes you on a fascinating journey through the old city, exploring the places, people and stories behind some of Rochester's most enduring supernatural traditions.
From accounts of unexplained apparitions to strange occurrences associated with historic buildings and familiar streets, this is a tour that explores the relationship between history, folklore and the unexplained.
But don't expect actors jumping out from behind gravestones!
There are no manufactured scares, theatrical performances or gimmicks. Instead, you'll discover carefully researched stories, eyewitness accounts and long-standing local traditions, told in the places with which they're associated.
And whether you're a committed believer in ghosts or a complete sceptic, there's plenty here to intrigue you.
Two hours of ghosts, hauntings and history — and perhaps a rather different perspective on Rochester's past.
What to expect
Minimum age: 16 years. This tour includes accounts of death, disturbing events and potentially unsettling supernatural experiences. Guests aged 16 or 17 are welcome, provided they are sufficiently mature to appreciate and be comfortable with the nature of the stories told.
Parents and Guardians are asked to consider the above carefully before booking.
If you've never been on one before, here's the honest answer: A guided walk isn't a show. It's not a bus tour. And it's definitely not something you sit down for.
It's a relaxed walk through a place — stopping at key locations while the stories are told where they actually happened or are traditionally associated with them.
That does mean:
It's not for everyone — and that's absolutely fine.
But if you enjoy:
And one little thing before you book…

There's also a little something waiting in your welcome email as our way of saying thank you for joining us. Something you might find rather useful!
It's entirely your choice, of course. But when you reach the page where you enter your personal details, look out for the little box inviting you to receive our emails.
You might be glad you ticked it!
