Rochester History Guided Tours

Welcome to the home page of ROCHESTER HISTORY GUIDED TOURS - provider of some of the most entertaining guided tours around, including the famous ROCHESTER SPOOKY TOUR (now in it's seventh year and with over 5,000 survivors and counting!) which runs on Fridays at 7pm and selected Saturdays at 5pm from October to March.

Come and immerse yourself in the town the Daily Mail called 'Britain at its best!'  with local historian and self-confessed Dickens nut, Shane Waterman.

Rochester has long been the site of some momentous events in British history - from the Romans, through the Normans, the Reformation under King Henry VIIIth, the Civil War and the Restoration - and its many connections with the works and life of Charles Dickens.

Rochester has more Dickens-related buildings and locations than anywhere else in the World - except London!

It is home to the second oldest Cathedral in England, the oldest choir school in the World - and the most original Norman Castle Keep in Europe!

We have a unique, beautiful High Street which bucks the trend towards national chains - only 6 of our 160 shops are national chains. The rest are ALL INDEPENDENT RETAILERS and Eateries! - we are the foodie capital of North West Kent, and ONLY 35 mins by high-speed train from London St Pancras - that makes us an evening out from central London, not just a day out!

Come and enjoy a day or just an evening here and, while you do, join us on one of our guided tours and REALLY get to know one of the hidden, historic gems of the United Kingdom.
