From Dickens to Sir Ben Okri & Daniel West: Reimagining A Tale of Two Cities

Stationers Hall City of London, London, EC4M 7AE
Friday 15th May 2026
Booker Prize winning author Ben Okri joins screenwriter Daniel West to discuss how fiction travels across time—from Charles Dickens and his 1859 novel A Tale of Two Cities to Okri’s imaginative novels. How do stories carry emotions, struggles and dreams across centuries, can literature remain powerful when reimagined for television, and have we, as the human race, learnt anything in the last 200 years or so?

A cash bar will be available at this venue.
