WOMEN IN HARMONY CHOIR BRIGHTLINGSEA

Brightlingsea’s Women in Harmony was formed back in 2018 by singing teacher Alison Benz who wanted to create a choir that bridged the gap between pop and classical choirs.

6 years later, the choir now has 40 members from all different musical backgrounds who share a real love of music and singing- especially when it’s in glorious 4-part harmony!

In addition to hosting two of their own charity concerts each year, Women in Harmony also regularly perform at various local events. To date the choir are very proud to have raised well over £10,000 for local as well as international charities and this year their chosen charity is the RNLI. We are very proud that our summer concert on July 7th will be part of the charity and Choir Community's ‘Sing to save lives’ initiative to help mark the charity’s 200th birthday.

This year has been an exciting one already for the choir as the founder of the London Community Gospel Choir, Rev. Bazil Meade came to run his third gospel singing workshop at St James in Brightlingsea and we got to perform for him at the concert afterwards. Later this year we're thrilled to be taking part in the 'Choirs at the Tower' choir festival at the Tower of London.
