Tom Bright - Young Old Bloke

Whittington Community Hall, Worcestershire, WR5 2RQ
Saturday 9th January 2027
We’re incredibly excited to welcome Tom Bright to Whittington Community Hall for a very special Live & Local evening.

One of the UK’s most compelling contemporary singer-songwriters, Tom Bright has built a reputation for powerful, honest song writing and captivating live performances. Described by Guy Garvey of BBC 6 Music as “the excellent Tom Bright” and by John Kennedy of Radio X as “one of the UK’s most moving songwriters”, Tom is an artist whose music connects just as deeply in an intimate room as it does on the biggest stages.

And that’s what makes this show so exciting: an artist of this calibre, who has performed at Glastonbury Festival, the London Palladium and Shepherd’s Bush Empire, coming to perform for us in the wonderfully intimate setting of Whittington Community Hall.
Tom’s story is every bit as fascinating as his music. He was once the UK’s youngest pub landlord, and his extraordinary life experiences have helped shape the empathy, grit and honesty that run through his song writing. His songs are full of lived experience, memorable characters and stories that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable.

His career has taken him from five performances at Glastonbury Festival and major stages including the London Palladium and Shepherd’s Bush Empire, to national television appearances on The One Show and BBC One’s Sunday Morning Live. He has also performed live on BBC Radio 2, BBC 5 Live and Radio X, and shared stages with artists including The Libertines, Tom Grennan, Mystery Jets, Reverend & The Makers and Ed Harcourt.

In 2025, Tom released Young Old Bloke, a collection of early works produced by Mick Jones of The Clash alongside Dirty White. The album adds to a growing catalogue that includes three albums produced by Ed Harcourt, while Tom is currently working on his fifth studio album with Blaine Harrison of Mystery Jets. But beneath the accolades and impressive CV is a truly captivating live performer - a fearless acoustic troubadour with a distinctive voice, remarkable stories and a rare ability to make an audience feel like they’re part of the journey.

“One of the UK’s most moving songwriters” — John Kennedy, Radio X “Achingly beautiful” — Rev. Kate Bottley, BBC Radio 2 “Something special” — Gordon Smart, BBC 5 Live  “A fearless acoustic troubadour with a voice like sandpaper and a heart like gold” — Louder Than War

We’re delighted to bring Tom Bright to Whittington for what will be a genuinely special and intimate evening. To have an artist who has graced some of the UK’s biggest stages performing in our community hall is exactly what Live & Local is all about.
