Dewomanised - Crystal McCaul, Fern Wilson & Margherita Gerome

In a dystopian world where women have no other purpose outside of reproduction and where abortion is illegal and legally punishable by death. What would happen if one of them decided to defy the system to save her life from a life- threatening pregnancy? Dewomanised follows the story of three women who live under an authoritarian regime which considers abortion as murder. The law is clear: Kill and you will be killed. When Mrs Elizabeth Moran and Ruth, her midwife, get caught after having to take extreme measures to save Elizabeth from a pregnancy that is taking a huge toll on her body, they are imprisoned and sentenced to death. However, who is more at fault? The mother or the midwife? The one who asked for the abortion or the one who performed it? And who should be the one establishing this?
