We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting prize-winning author Stephen Graham Jones as part of his UK tour for ‘The Buffalo Hunter Hunter’! After becoming a New York Times bestselling author for his 2021 novel ‘The Only Good Indians,’ Stephen has continued to use his masterful command of the horror genre to both excavate and exorcise the injustices experienced by Native Americans. We at The Bound are beyond excited to have him here to discuss The Buffalo Hunter Hunter –a gripping revenge story that will chill you to the bone–and can promise an evening to remember for all fans of historical horror!

This is the American West as told through the eyes of one whose blood belongs to the earth. It begins when Etsy Beaucrane, an academic in dire need of a publication, discovers a 100 year-old diary kept by her Lutheran priest grandfather inside a wall. The pages contain the transcribed interviews of a member of the Blackfoot Nation named Good Stab, who, over a number of visits to her grandfather’s confessional, details the story of his unnaturally long life and the horrors he witnessed throughout.

Montana, in its earliest days. A massacre. The blood of 217 Blackfeet soaking into the snow. As Etsy digs deeper into her family’s past Good Stab’s story begins to take nightmarish shape, and with it the brutal cycles of violence that stain the history of colonial America.

It is easy to see why The Buffalo Hunter Hunter was shortlisted for the Bram Stoker, Nebula, and Splatterpunk Awards. Stephen brings a fresh perspective to vampire folklore in a way that will arrest you from the start, so come along and join us for a thrilling evening of haunted history!

Stephen Graham Jones will be in conversation with novelist Lauren Beukes, author of The Shining Girls.

A welcome drink will be included with your ticket price. Events at The Bound take place on the first floor which is not wheelchair accessible.
