Drive an industrial Diesel locomotive around the internal railway system of British Steel Scunthorpe, with the Appleby Frodingham Railway - Scunthorpe.
Take a chance at this unique opportunity to drive a Diesel locomotive, not on a heritage railway, but an active , operational steelworks industrial site, with the largest private rail network in the UK. Running alongside steel trains as they go about there normal work, You will be able to experience and actual active railway, and being part of it.
Departing from Frodingham platform, in your 2 hour time slot, you alone will be instructed on how to drive the diesel locomotive around the site, covering around 15 miles, changing direction several times before returning to Frodingham platform.
If you wish to share this opportunity with a friend, this can be done so costing just a little more, to share the 2 hours of driving.
6 guests can join you during the experience, riding behind the locomotive in one of our brake vans.
