Big Ideas By The Sea presents in collaboration with the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival a performance of Schubert's Quintet in C Major (D. 956) by the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival Ensemble.
Schubert’s String Quintet in C Major is considered a masterpiece of chamber music, known for its emotional depth, symphonic scale, and unusual scoring for a string quartet plus a second cello rather than a second viola. It is celebrated for its hauntingly beautiful Adagio and profound, dramatic intensity, serving as one of his final, most significant compositions.
The North York Moors Chamber Music Festival Ensemble consists of Charlotte Scott (violin), Emma Parker (violin), Simone van der Giessen (viola), Jamie Walton (Cello) and Nathaniel Boyd (cello).
