9 to 5: The Musical is a laugh-out-loud comedy based on the iconic 1980 film, with an original score by country legend Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. Set in a bustling 1970s office, the story follows three smart, determined women, Violet, Judy, and Doralee, who are fed up with their sexist, egotistical boss. When a series of outrageous events leads them to take matters into their own hands, chaos and hilarity ensue.
Packed with vibrant choreography and big-hearted humour, the show features a catchy soundtrack including the unforgettable title number “9 to 5,” the empowering anthem “Shine Like the Sun,” and the heartfelt ballad “Get Out and Stay Out.”
A celebration of friendship, female empowerment, and finding your voice, 9 to 5: The Musical is both timely and timeless. It’s a feel-good ride full of sass, charm, and Dolly’s signature sparkle.
Content warning includes:
- Depictions of sexism and workplace harassment (portrayed in a comedic and satirical manner)
- Mild language and adult humour
- Drug use (comedic context)
- Gender stereotypes and workplace discrimination themes
Suitable for ages: 12+
