A Night of Masterpieces: Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff
Two great works of the Romantic repertoire take centre stage in a programme of passion, virtuosity and emotional intensity.
Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto is one of the most beloved works in the violin repertoire, combining soaring melodies, dazzling virtuosity and moments of intimate lyricism. From its radiant opening to its exuberant finale, the concerto places the soloist at the heart of a work that is both technically thrilling and deeply expressive.
Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 1 follows, a powerful and dramatic work that reveals the composer’s distinctive voice. Dark, turbulent and richly melodic, the symphony builds from its haunting opening motif to a thrilling and emotionally charged conclusion.
