Poetry evening: Inua Ellams MBE and Roger Robinson
Veranda Books, London, W1H 5BA
Friday 13th November 2026 6:30PM
A huge honour to welcome poets Inua Ellams and Roger Robinson to Veranda in celebration of their work.
Inua’s collection of poems and essays, The Actual, which was longlisted for the Rathbones Folio Prize will be reissued in November, and will be sure to garner yet more acclaim. Described as “a symphony of personal and political fury dealing with empire and its legacies of racism, injustice and toxic masculinity”, this newly revised edition offers new insight into the meanings and creative processes held in Inua’s poetry.
Roger Robinson’s new collection Some Sacred Harbour gathers a lifetime’s work from this highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning writer and musician, and launches a conversation about Creative Citizenship, that argues creativity belongs to everyone.
Expect readings and wide-ranging conversation - this promises to be a memorable evening and we expect tickets to sell out fast!
