Flight of the Chaffinch
The Golden Goose Theatre, London, SE5 0RR
Thursday 23rd July 2026
Join us for a Rehearsed Read-Through of the One Act Play: The Flight of the Chaffinch, written by Amy English.
Through the eyes of a Birdwatcher, observe the world of three Norfolk Migrating Birds. However to us they are not ordinary birds. They're a group of friends facing their 20's, who migrate every July to the same beach spot. But this July is different. The weight of last year's accident hangs in the air, as they come to terms with the fact that their missing friend Charlie won't be joining them this year. Secrets and unspoken feelings are brought to the surface, as the events of the accident are unravelled. The play explores how the complex idea of "moving on" can manifest differently for people, but especially for these friends in their 20’s, who are just trying to work out their place in the world.
