Wonderland

A bold, modern musical reimagining

Step through the looking glass and into Wonderland, a vibrant, contemporary musical that reimagines Lewis Carroll’s much-loved characters for a whole new generation.

Award winning Stage One Youth Theatre proudly presents Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland — a thrilling, high-energy show from the Tony and Grammy‑nominated composer of Jekyll & Hyde and Bonnie & Clyde. With a dynamic score blending contemporary pop, soulful jazz and powerful theatrical ballads, Wonderland is a spectacular twist on a familiar tale.

This time, Alice is not a young girl but a modern woman struggling to balance the pressures of work, relationships and family life. After a chance accident in a broken-down elevator, she finds herself transported to a fantastical world hidden beneath the streets — a Wonderland that is chaotic, dazzling and dangerously divided. As she navigates this surreal realm, Alice becomes entangled in a tense battle for power between the mysterious Mad Hatter and the formidable Queen of Hearts. To survive — and to return home — Alice must confront her self-doubt, embrace her imagination and decide what kind of leader, and person, she truly wants to be.

Packed with striking visuals, unforgettable characters and emotionally charged storytelling, Wonderland offers humour, heart and high drama in equal measure. Performed by a talented cast of young performers, this production is a visual and musical feast for audiences aged 7 to 97.
