Topsy Turvy 2026:
Life behind the Mask by Jack Evans Dance

Experience the powerful and thought-provoking Life Behind the Mask by Jack Evans Dance, an inspiring indoor performance that blends live dance with cutting-edge digital technology.

Choreographed by Jack Evans, this compelling duet explores Jack's experience as an autistic dancer and the concept of masking - the ways autistic people may suppress or conceal their natural behaviours to fit into social situations.

Using digital tools to create alter egos, this exciting work fuses popping and contemporary dance, inviting audiences to see the world through a new perspective. Jack Evans is an Associate Artist with Cheshire Dance on the Talent Development North Programme.

The digital artwork has been created by digital artists Chris Oakley and Mike Sharps of Cine-Window Winsford in collaboration with dancer Jack Evans. The Arts and Regeneration Teams at Cheshire West and Chester Council lead Cine-Window Winsford, a participatory moving image programme that creates and showcases films with and for Winsford's communities.

Following the performance, audiences are invited to experience the technology for themselves. Come and move, wave or even dance with Point Cloud, the interactive digital installation developed by Cine-Window Winsford, in the theatre space after the show.
