Print Your Own Christmas Cards Workshop
Ackworth Parish Council Community Centre, Pontefract, WF7 7JH
Friday 13th November 2026 5:30PM
Spend a festive evening creating your own Christmas cards.
You'll learn how to design and create your own stamps before printing your own unique designs, ready to send to family and friends. All resources and equipment are provided, allowing you to create an edition of original handmade cards to add that personal touch to your Christmas post.
This workshop is beginner-friendly, with no previous experience necessary. However, we will be using bladed carving tools, so the session is not suitable for under 16s. You’ll be guided through safe cutting techniques, how to transfer designs onto the easy carve surface, and how to print cleanly onto card using high quality water-based inks. Everything you need is provided, including a choice of a 6x4" easy carve block or individual erasers, carving tools, ink pads, and blank cards. You’ll also get to keep your block so you can continue printing at home.
Your experience will be guided by Abigail, an experienced print-maker and qualified teacher, giving you the opportunity to build your confidence in a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere. You'll head home with a new skill - and having enjoyed a complimentary festive drink and mince pie!
What's included:
Carving materials and tools.
Access to inks and printing materials.
A selection of blank cards with envelopes.
Guidance as you design, prepare, and carve your print.
Your stamp to take home to continue printing.
What to bring:
Any design ideas and pictures you might like for inspiration.
We also advise that you wear appropriate clothing for the activity, just in case you get ink on it!
Add-ons available:
Extra 6"x4" easy cut carving plates (£3.50)
A set of carving tools to keep (£12.50)
'Print Your Own' gift boxes containing everything the recipient needs to begin creating cards themselves (£20)
These can be added by contacting the host after booking.
