Title of Talk
"Materialisations and Portrayals along and within the migratory Channel Crossing Route."

Georgie is a final year PhD student studying sea migration and boat spaces. Working in the Centre for Migration and Forced Displacement (CMFD), her research focusses on the materialities and spatialities of different boat spaces involved in sea migration across the English Channel. She explores what types of spaces have materialised along the migratory route, how these are understood by those who encounter them, and their subsequent portrayals in art and literature. This research is conducted qualitatively through interviews, ethnography, and artefact analyses.
