REBECCA NASH and SARA COLMAN
The Sir John Colfox Academy, Bridport, DT6 3DT
Thursday 8th October 2026
Two players, Rebecca Nash and Sara Colman, one long friendship, and a sound that soars! They and a Steinway Grand piano take centre stage at Colfox Academy in Bridport for an evening of jazz, folk and classical tunes to create a captivating evening of music.
Pianist Rebecca and vocalist Sara, are two of the most accomplished musicians on today's jazz scene. As a pianist, composer and educator with connections to the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Rebecca helps train the next wave of jazz musicians. Her writing leans on rich, unexpected harmony — the kind that rewards close listening.
Sara is a singer and composer, and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire's first ever Recording Artist in Residence. Sara's voice carries the story in every song — direct, warm and completely unshowy.
In the summer of 2020, with the world on pause for covid, they shut themselves away in a forest house for ten days. Just the two of them, a set of chickens, and a pile of half-written songs. Out of that came a close collaboration between the two and Ribbons — the title track of a collection which mingles different musical styles heavily influenced by Joni Mitchell and British jazz pianist John Taylor.
"Colman's exquisite vocals meet Nash's gift for gorgeous chord work — the result is simply stunning".— Vibe
