Wild Balmedie Adult Explorers - SEA BIRDS AND MAMMALS

Welcome to Wild Balmedie – Adult Explorers at Balmedie Beach & Country Park.
Hosted by The Sand Bothy in partnership with RSPB Aberdeen & North East Scotland, this new pilot programme is a grown-up companion to our much-loved Balmedie Beach Explorers sessions for families.
It has been created especially for adults who would like to spend more time outdoors, deepen their connection with the natural environment, and enjoy learning in a relaxed, social setting.
These sessions explore coastal habitats, life on the shore, coastal plants, tides and food webs, while encouraging a greater understanding of how we can care for our coast and play a part in protecting our beaches and oceans.
The programme also recognises the importance of time spent outdoors for wellbeing, offering space to slow down, notice nature and reconnect with the landscape around us.
Each session may include guided walks, nature observation, gentle creative activities, discussion, plant and wildlife identification, and quiet moments to simply be in nature — all designed to suit the theme of the session.
No prior knowledge or experience is needed.
Sessions will take place mainly outdoors at Balmedie Country Park and beach.
In poor weather, activities will move indoors to The Sand Bothy.
Please dress for the weather and take along your own bottle of water.
