Nature Journalling at The Sand Bothy with RSPB ( monthly )

The Sand Bothy, Aberdeenshire, AB23 8XG
Sunday 19th July 2026
Nature Journalling is a reflective practice that involves observing, recording and sketching the natural world.  Journalling can help us to deepen our connection with nature, cultivate mindfulness, and develop a greater appreciation for the environment just by being curious.

Monthly Nature Journalling at the Sand Bothy! ✨🌿
Take a pause with us each month as we slow down, look a little closer, and connect with our beautiful landscape. Whether you love to sketch or you’ve never kept a journal before, these gentle sessions offer a welcoming space to get creative, try simple nature‑observation techniques, and enjoy the changing seasons.

We encourage participants to book onto the full series ( 7 sessions).
The first session (March 22nd) will be an introductory exploration of nature journaling, with subsequent sessions building on what we began together.

Though you can certainly take away enough from one session to enjoy it yourself again, in your own time.

An introduction to Nature Journalling will be provided to you by Dawn McGlynn, RSPB Aberdeen & North East Scotland.
with Art materials, and deveohpling drawing skills from Joni Corbett, The Sand Bothy.

No special tools or artistic skills are needed, just bring a long a blank notebook, and a pencil and be ready to look at nature in a whole new way.

There will be a maximum of 10 spaces available for this workshop.

Proceeds will be split between RSPB & The Sand Bothy.
