Spilling the Beans (Elmbridge LitFest 2026)

Spilling the Beans is an adventure in crafting poems that sneakily convey the personal. The workshop will explore devices to help catch truths we long to tell. The session will give participants a chance to draft poems and explore further ideas that can be worked on at their own leisure. No previous experience is necessary – just an urge to unleash the mischief and magic of words. Katie Griffiths is author of The Attitudes and the prize-winning My Shrink is Pregnant. She came second in 2018's National Poetry Competition, and in 2024 won the Gregory O'Donoghue International Poetry Prize. Her next book Mindset Mindrise is due in autumn 2026.
