Creative Writing Lab | Online Sessions

Online
Tuesday 7th April 2026 - Monday 27th April 2026
A 4-week creative writing course led by Christopher Finnegan-Wright. Across four weeks we’ll explore the architecture of powerful storytelling:

Week 1 – Character Creation & Development
Building psychologically and socially layered characters rooted in truth, contradiction and lived experience.

Week 2 – Monologues & Duologues
Voice, rhythm and dramatic tension — writing dialogue that carries subtext, stakes and emotional charge.

Week 3 – Conflict, Stakes & Story Shape
Dramatic propulsion. Internal vs external conflict. Structural choices that shape audience experience.

Week 4 – World Building
Constructing coherent social, emotional and political landscapes — from intimate realism to expansive mythic systems.

Each week we will explore these areas through a combination of theory and writing exercises, whilst centring representation, mental health, authorship and socially-conscious work.

This course is for writers at the beginning of their journey and those looking to refine and challenge their existing practice. This isn’t about quick wins or overnight success - it’s about developing your craft in a space for you to experiment without judgement.

Weekly sessions starting on Monday 6th April.
