'Peace Makers: Why Diplomats Matter in War and Peace', with Peter Ricketts

Wars dominate the headlines, but diplomats often shape what happens next. Taking his new book Peace Makers as a starting point, former National Security Adviser and British Ambassador Peter Ricketts uncovers the Foreign Office figures who forged wartime alliances between Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt and helped build the post-1945 order. From the Cold War and NATO to Trump, Putin, Iraq and ongoing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, he reveals the reality behind the hidden work of diplomacy and why its role in today’s dangerous world matters more than ever.
