Ho Long (Harold) Lee, Oboe and Xiaowen Shang, Piano
Introduction from Nicola Mutton, Director of Artistic Planning, Royal Academy of Music
"It is my great pleasure to bring some of the Academy’s exceptional student performers to this lunchtime concert series in Tetbury. Over the course of the year, more carefully curated concerts will showcase the diverse talents of our students, who represent a wide range of nationalities and cultural backgrounds".
Oboist Harold Ho Long Lee was born in Hong Kong. He studied at Wells Cathedral School before joining the Royal Academy of Music to study with Christopher Cowie. Going into his third year of undergraduate studies in September, Howard won the Academy's oboe prize in his 2nd year and performed as Principal in the Academy Symphony Orchestra.
Xiaowen Shang is a versatile pianist and harpsichordist with a passion for early, classical, and contemporary music. Her repertoire spans from Renaissance composers such as Antonio de Cabezón and William Byrd to contemporary figures including Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, and Brett Dean. She has collaborated with renowned musicians and composers such as Steven Isserlis, Joanna MacGregor, Rachel Podger, Brett Dean, Dame Imogen Cooper, Lawrence Power, and Adrian Brendel.
I am thrilled to share the talent and artistry of the Royal Academy’s students with Tetbury, and hope you will join us for the series.
