TCS Music Academy
TCS Music Academy
TCS Music Academy welcomes primary school pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6, and students that are currently attending Teignmouth community School.
Sectionals and Junior Orchestra
Is your child curious about learning an instrument but unsure where to start? At Teignmouth Community School, our Sectionals provide a fun, welcoming way for children to begin their musical journey.
These small-group sessions are perfect for beginners, giving children the chance to work hard, join in and be kind while learning alongside peers who are also starting out. Playing in a group helps build confidence, encourages teamwork, and makes music-making enjoyable from the very first lesson.
For students who want to continue playing and explore music in a relaxed group setting, we also offer the junior orchestra. This session allows children to build on their skills with other musicians, play a variety of music, and enjoy performing together in a supportive, friendly environment.
What instruments are available?
Children can choose from strings, woodwind, brass, or musical theatre, all taught by experienced specialist music teachers.
Who can join?
Sessions are open to Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils who attend a primary school in the Teignmouth Community School catchment area or live locally. These sessions are ideal for children who want to try an instrument before committing to individual lessons.
When are the sessions?
Wednesdays,
Sectionals: 15.45 pm – 4:30pm
Junior Orchestra: 4:30pm – 5:00pm for students who want to continue playing in a relaxed, inclusive ensemble.
