Kendrick Lamar was also born in the city of Compton and is known for his songs Humble, DNA, Swimming Pools, and Money Trees. Throughout his career, Kendrick has won a huge 17 Grammy awards, as well as an Emmy Award, a BRIT Award, and 25 BET Hip Hop Awards, which are the most awards of this kind to ever be won by an artist.

The late rap icon The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls, was born in Brooklyn and is known for his songs Hypnotize, Mo Money Mo Problems, Big Poppa, and Juicy. He released his debut studio album, Ready To Die, in 1994, and his second studio album, Life After Death, was released 16 days after he was shot dead in 1997. Tupac Shakur, another late legendary rapper, was born in the East Harlem neighborhood of New York and is known for his songs All Eyez On Me, Changes, California Love, and Hit Em Up. Before his death in 1996, the rapper, who also had a well-known rivalry with The Notorious B.I.G., released four solo albums, including his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now.

Noughties icon Nelly was born in the city of Austin and is known for his songs Dilemma, Hot In Herre, Just A Dream, and Ride Wit Me. Throughout his career, he has released eight studio albums, including Country Grammar and Nellyville. Like Beyoncé, current rap star Travis Scott was also born in the city of Houston and is known for his songs Sicko Mode, Goosebumps, Highest In The Room, and Butterfly Effect. He has released four studio albums and two mixtapes and has won multiple awards for his work including a BET Hip Hop Award for Album Of The Year for Astroworld and an MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip Hop.

Illinois is also the birthplace of Seth Myers, who was born in the city of Evanston. Seth was a cast member on Saturday Night Live between the years 2001 and 2014, where he impersonated many individuals such as Prince Charles, Ryan Seacrest, and Tom Cruise. He now hosts his own TV talk show Late Night With Seth Myers and has won eight awards for his work, including a Peabody Award, Emmy Award, and Critics’ Choice Television Award.
