Without Words: The Art of Kintsugi
Wrington Chapel (URC), Bristol, BS40 5NH
Thursday 15th October 2026 7:00PM
How can the Japanese art of mending broken pottery help us understand the way grief reshapes us?
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with a lacquer mixed with gold – not hiding the cracks, but illuminating them so the repaired piece becomes stronger, and more beautiful.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of kintsugi and create their own piece. Along the way, there's time to reflect on grief, resilience and repair – and what it might mean to carry our own cracks with us, not hidden, but visible in gold.
Led by Jo Sinclair of Crafty Sew and So.
Suitable for 16+ and all experience levels. All materials are provided.
