Cushions of Memory

This workshop invites participants to create a personal memory cushion, perhaps using a piece of clothing or fabric that belonged to someone who died. You’ll learn simple hand-stitching techniques to add words, names, colours or patterns — turning something familiar into a keepsake to hold and keep close.

It’s a relaxed, creative space to work with your hands while sharing memories and listening to others.

18+. No sewing experience is needed and plenty of help will be available.

Please bring a piece of clothing or fabric you don’t mind cutting up, plus scissors and a basic sewing kit if you have them — coloured threads, wool, backing fabrics and cushion pads will be provided.
