Halloween at The Hold

Join Suffolk Archives to mark Halloween, also known as Samhain (pronounced Sow-un) inspired by our major new exhibition Witches: Suffolk's Dark Legacy. A day of workshops, activities and talks tailored to both adults and families, exploring Halloween, Samhain traditions, and stories of magical practice.

See individual event listings for details and to book sessions throughout the day.
Join us for a free opening ritual at 10am:
Remembering our Ancestors at the Festival of Samhain
Halloween, or Samhain is a liminal time when we acknowledge the end of the harvest and descent into Winter. It is traditionally a time to remember our ancestors, which we will do in this simple ceremony open to all. Led by Mugwort and Mistletoe of Ipswich.

See individual event listings for details and to book sessions throughout the day.
