Come along and join us for an evening with two authors
Margaret Holbrook has written short stories, poetry and plays. Her first published book was ‘Watching and other Stories’ a collection of short stories and flash fiction. This was followed by her first full length novel, ‘About Us…’, more books followed. She now writes whodunnits set in the late 1920s featuring landed amateur sleuth and racing driver Jack France. A sixth book featuring Jack, ‘A Puzzle in Pictures’ will be out in Spring 2026. She has also written Mr and Mrs Wilmott Investigate, a collection of short stories featuring retired sleuthing couple Edward and Millie Wilmott. She is a member of the Society of Authors and the Crime Writers’ Association.
Charles Heathcote is the author of the Valentine and Featherstone Mysteries, which are cosy crime novels whose protagonist has an acid-tongue to rival Agatha Raisin, with the community feel of Julia Chapman's Dales Detective Series. The series pays homage to the Golden Age of crime fiction in a similar fashion to Tom Mead. They follow Alice Valentine and Marmaduke Featherstone, an unlikely duo, who find themselves embroiled in murder investigations in the small town of Partridge Mews.
