St Mary's Youth Theatre

The objective of SMYT is to provide education in the performing arts for young people of all abilities and in particular to foster in them an appreciation and enjoyment of theatre arts and drama.  We teach teamwork, dedication and help student to acquire self-confidence and nurture a sense of belonging.
We are a non-profit making theatre company, formed in 1993 as a vehicle for young people age 8-18 to be able to express themselves in a performing arts environment regardless of colour, creed, religious persuasion or disability.  The primary criteria for membership is not based upon the individuals performing ability but more on the simple desire to take part in shows produced to a very high standard in a professional theatre in Leeds.
