Life on the Edge Walks Series (21) – Torcross & Widdicombe Loop (history)

Join us for the latest in our series of guided walks that celebrate the beauty of South Devon's coastal landscape.
This is a gentle and beautiful walk of about 2.5 miles. Expect to enjoy the graceful form of Start Bay curving away to the north and south, freshwater lagoons, meadows, woodland, and peaceful Devon lanes meandering through the landscape. Nicky will be your guide for this walk, and she'll be telling you all about the fascinating WW2 history of this area.
This is a moderate walk with 2 sets of steps. The route is fairly even underfoot. Coastal footpath and field footpaths with occasional mud in wet weather; some surfaced road.
Please bring a bottle of water, good footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome. There are toilets and refreshments in Torcross carpark.
Meet at Torcross Carpark, TQ7 2TQ, or we are providing minibus pick-ups for people who don’t have their own transport. Pick-up at Follaton Arboretum, Totnes (by wooden sign) is at 09:25, or pick-up at Quay carpark, Kingsbridge (Information Centre end) is at 10:00. Booking essential.
