Ex Cathedra Gala Concert

Claudio Monteverdi’s famous 1610 Vespers never fails to astonish. Written on the cusp of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, it dazzles with vocal and instrumental virtuosity, burns with fervent devotion, and invites us into its intimate, sensual solos, duets and trios. Not only an unforgettable opportunity to hear this music of extraordinary scale and invention, but also conductor Jeffrey Skidmore’s final concert in Shrewsbury before retiring as Artistic Director of Ex Cathedra.
