Radio Blah Blah with Guy Lloyd LIVE
The Actors, Brighton, BN2 1RD
Thursday 27th November 2025
Guy Lloyd's Radio Blah Blah is a live show with a twist! Incorporating a broadcast studio and a live performance space, Guy is turning radio up to '11', with an exciting and immersive event for the good people of Brighton (Hove too!).
Remember The Tube? TFI Friday? This is the radio equivalent. Live performances from bands, solo artists, comedians, poets, you name it, anything could happen on this show. Alongside the live performances, there'll be interviews with big names from across the city and beyond, all in front of a live audience. That live audience being you. And your friends. And family. And possibly, domestic animals (although we’d take non-domestic).
This month we welcome Genevieve, Elandra, & Crowd.
A lifelong creator, Genevieve grew up in a musically rich environment that profoundly shaped her distinctive sound. From an early age, she was captivated by the soulful storytelling of Van Morrison, the lush, emotive synths and cinematic textures of 1980s icons like The Human League, and the groundbreaking artistry of David Bowie and Kate Bush. Bowie’s fearless experimentation and Bush’s ethereal intensity continue to echo through Genevieve’s work, inspiring her to blend theatricality with emotional truth. Her music — a fusion of 80s-inspired pop and atmospheric electronics — feels both intimate and expansive, inviting listeners into spaces of reflection, vulnerability, and emotional honesty. Nostalgic yet refreshingly modern, her sound weaves lush synths, haunting melodies, and heartfelt lyricism into something entirely her own. Released on October 3rd, “Joseph” — the first single from her forthcoming EP Blue Moon — is a meditation on grief, loss, and transformation. Written during the months Genevieve spent with her father as dementia slowly took him away, the song captures the ache of watching someone you love fade in fragments. For much of her life, anxiety kept her living small and avoiding pain — but grief cannot be outrun. Through Joseph, Genevieve found that beneath fear and heartbreak lies a quiet wisdom guiding us through even the darkest moments. As a gay artist and life coach, authenticity and courage shape everything Genevieve creates. Her work — both musical and personal — transforms grief and anxiety into stories of self-discovery, resilience, and liberation. She seeks to break the silence surrounding mental health in the music industry, showing that even in loss, there is truth, healing, and connection.
Brighton alt/indie duo Elandra ignite their next chapter with “Ask Me Why”, a song that transforms emotional exhaustion into motion. Built on a hypnotic guitar line, pulsing bass, and driving drums. This single is a fast-paced burst of melodic tension and release; an urgent, euphoric anthem for fans of DIIV, Tame Impala, and The War on Drugs. Following the success of their recent single “Days, Years & Months”, which landed playlists, drew 1.5K+ UK streams in two weeks, earned global radio play, and nearly sold out their Brighton headline show — Elandra return sharper than ever. Accompanied by a Brighton-seafront music video, the single will debut on BBC Introducing with Melita Dennett, alongside upcoming UK press features and London/Brighton gigs leading into their debut album Right Wrong (May 2026).
Crowd are a noisy Brighton four-piece making slow micro post rock, FFO Slint & Deathcrash.
This is a night not to be missed. Previous shows have sold out very quickly, so book your ticket now and come and join us for a night of joy, merriment and great hair.
Doors open at 6.30pm
Show starts at 7.00pm until 9.00pm
