Radio Blah Blah with Guy Lloyd LIVE
The Actors, Brighton, BN2 1RD
Thursday 19th March 2026
Guy Lloyd's Radio Blah Blah is a live show with a twist! Incorporating a broadcast studio and a live performance space, Guy is turning radio up to '11', with an exciting and immersive event for the good people of Brighton (Hove too!).
Remember The Tube? TFI Friday? This is the radio equivalent. Live performances from bands, solo artists, comedians, poets, you name it, anything could happen on this show. Alongside the live performances, there'll be interviews with big names from across the city and beyond, all in front of a live audience. That live audience being you. And your friends. And family. And possibly, domestic animals (although we’d take non-domestic).
This month we welcome Ripcho, Club Magic, and Doctor Turtle.
Riphco, aka Joe Sudell, is a keyboardist, percussionist and producer based in Brighton, UK. Over the last 6 years he has been crafting 3 EPs of music incorporating elements of Jazz, Aftobeats, Soul and Steel Pan in bursts of outwards expression and self love. Throughout these EPs Joe has collaborated with Senegalese Singer Khadim Sarr and Soul Singer Frankie Jean who join him on stage alongside Teddy Chin Kit and a seasoned band of musicians that he has had the pleasure of performing alongside in a number of diverse Brighton based projects over the last sixteen years.
Brighton-based indie-electronic outfit Club Magic blend shimmering synths, infectious grooves and raw live energy to create a sound that's both nostalgic and futuristic. Drawing inspiration widely from the vibrant underground electronic scene to Talking Heads and cult producer Andrew Weatherall, the band fuses psychedelic textures with post-modern songwriting, delivering anthems made for late-night drives and hazy dance floors. Debut track "WOW" is now out and got picked as track of the day "HOT ONE" by John Kennedy's X-Posure daily (Thur 29 Jan) on Radio X.
Doctor Turtle is the performing and recording name of Simon Ounsworth, a Brighton-based fingerstyle acoustic guitarist working in and around the American Primitive tradition. He has been releasing music under permissive Creative Commons licenses for ten years, during which time his work has been downloaded half a million times and featured in several thousand videos, podcasts, games and films, most notably the 2022 Folding Ideas NFT documentary “Line Goes Up”. His most recent LP is “This Is Your Captain Sinking”. He also hosts the Americana radio show “Hello America” on Slack City/totallyradio, and co-hosts the Outsider/Esoterica show “Now That’s What I Call Content” with Gwenifer Raymond.
This is a night not to be missed. Previous shows have sold out very quickly, so book your ticket now and come and join us for a night of joy, merriment and great hair.
Doors open at 6.30pm
Show starts at 7.00pm until 9.00pm
