As A Tea Leaf is a duo post-dramatic performance explores the distance and pull between two people, presented by Fermented Theatre.

How does a single leaf carry the weight of identity, memory, home, and relationship?

Plucking, withering, bruising, rolling… As a tea leaf, we search for our identities — oxidising memories, stirring bittersweet sounds and nostalgic fragrances into one cup of tea.

This duo post-dramatic performance explores the distance and pull between two people — what draws them close, what keeps them apart, and the identities that stretch, meet, and refuse a single shape, even when they share the same journey.

This performance is inspired by The Sediments of Who We Are, co-devised by Fermented Theatre.

Artist Bio:
Po-Hsiang Chang (Bo) is an interdisciplinary theatre maker working across drama, live DJ, immersive performance, dance theatre, and screen media. He advocates for East Asian representation and cross-cultural practice in the UK, exploring East Asian narratives in contemporary contexts. Recent collaborators include The Coronet Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Hung Dance, and Taipei Performing Arts Center.

Uriel Villar (pronounced oo’-ri-el) is a Filipino actor, performer, writer, host, and educator whose practice explores interdisciplinary storytelling. With a background in Development Communication and Performing Arts, she has worked across theatre, film, and commercial productions as an actor, director, writer, and producer. She is a resident member of Theatre2108 and currently pursuing an MFA in Advanced Theatre Practice at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
