Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway
This is a heritage railway in Sittingbourne, Kent, that used to be part of a large industrial railway linking Sittingbourne and Kemsley Paper Mills to Ridham Dock. This narrow gauge railway (2ft 6in between the rails) uses the original locomotives, coaches and wagons plus some 'newcomers' too.
Trains will be hauled by steam locomotive 'Premier' from Sittingbourne Viaduct station, formerly the exchange sidings for the now-demolished paper mill, and over the century-old, kilometre-long Milton Regis Viaduct which winds it's way out of the town.
The line then passes through Milton Creek Country Park and Church Marshes before arriving at Kemsley Down, which is within Britain's largest operational paper mill. This is the main headquarters of the Railway where you will find the Footplate Café, shop, museum, picnic area, wildlife garden etc.
