A One-Man Psychological Horror Musical
Book, Music & Lyrics by Joseph Helsing
Some houses are haunted by the dead. Others are haunted by the living.
London, 1888. Beneath the choking fog and blood-stained streets of Whitechapel, the Mansfield family returns to a house where the past refuses to stay buried.
Dr. Samuel Mansfield was once a respected physician. Now, tormented by grief and haunted by the memory of a devastating fire, he finds himself slipping into madness. His wife, Madeline, hides behind porcelain and silence, concealing scars that run far deeper than those upon her skin. Between them lies a locked nursery, the ghost of a lost child, and a night neither can fully remember.
But something is wrong with the house.
Footsteps appear where nobody has walked. Music boxes play in empty rooms. Messages written in a child's hand emerge from the fogged mirrors. And as Samuel descends further into the darkness of his own mind, the terrifying truth behind their marriage begins to surface.
Is the house possessed? Is a malevolent presence demanding the truth? Or are Samuel and Madeline being consumed by the unbearable weight of their own guilt?
BEDLAM: A STUDY IN MURDER AND MADNESS is a chilling one-man psychological horror musical in which a single performer brings Victorian London, a fractured marriage and a world of gothic nightmares to life. Through haunting original songs, twisted revelations and an increasingly disturbing descent into madness, one man's struggle to uncover the truth becomes a journey into the darkest corners of the human mind.
As the shadow of Jack the Ripper falls across the city, the horrors within the Mansfield household may prove more terrifying than anything stalking the streets outside.
Because some secrets are buried for a reason. Some memories are better left forgotten. And some doors, once opened, can never be closed again.
Welcome home. The house is waiting. And it knows what you did.
