The Dance Continued (Shipston Song 2026)

St Kenelm's Church, Oxfordshire, OX7 4NN
Friday 18th September 2026
New beginnings blur with old memories in this programme where both words and music paint the passing of time. Gurney, Farrar, Holst and Howells are framed with music by Gerald Finzi, whose songs are embedded in the pastoral landscape of both Gloucestershire and Hardy’s ‘Wessex’. This recital features highlights from Nick and Ian’s forthcoming album celebrating Finzi’s 125th anniversary.

This recital is preceded by a free Pre-festival Talk by Dr Katy Hamilton. 'What's in a Song?' will introduce the weekend and the song genre, 6.45-7.15pm. Tickets are free but booking is advised. Click here to reserve a seat.
