Century Cycle Continues - Main Event Location (Smith Hall)
Smith Hall, SC, 29601
Saturday, February 28 2026
Join us on February 28 at 3 p.m. for the live round of The Century Cycle Continues at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. Watch as 10 state-wide finalists and 4 Governor’s School performers take the stage to perform select monologues before a live audience and a panel of celebrity judges—all competing for cash prizes and the title of this year’s winner.
Inspired by August Wilson’s legendary Century Cycle, this inaugural competition—conceived and hosted by Academy Award-nominee and Governor’s School alumna Danielle Brooks—celebrates the enduring legacy of Black voices in American theatre. Witness the next generation of storytellers carry the torch forward, proving that while the cycle may be complete, the story is far from over. Learn more at https://www.cccmonologuecompetition.com/
Tickets open to general public 2/14/2026!
