Lunchtime Talk: Entertainment - Fun, Culture and Spectacle

Join the Collections Team for a look at entertainment and leisure through objects and artworks from the collection as featured in Dive In, our exhibition celebrating 400 years of Scarborough as England's seaside resort.

From Georgian assemblies and Victorian promenades to theatres, concerts, amusement arcades and seaside shows, Scarborough has long been a place to be entertained. This talk explores 400 years of leisure and amusement, revealing how visitors sought excitement, culture and escape, and how entertainment helped shape Scarborough's identity as one of Britain's most popular seaside resorts.
