Sandwell Stanzas – Open Mic Poetry Nights - 18+
Join us for Sandwell Stanzas, a welcoming series of open mic poetry nights taking place across Sandwell libraries throughout 2026–27.
Whether you’re an experienced poet, completely new to performing, or simply want to come along and enjoy an evening of spoken word, everyone is welcome. Each event will feature an open mic alongside a headline performance from an exciting guest poet.
Sandwell Stanzas aims to create an inclusive and accessible space for people to share their words, discover new voices and connect through poetry.
Tonight we are joined by Headliner Morgan Birch: Morgan Birch is a psychologist and poet with a taste for intricate rhyming and unusual subject-matter. Whether addressing the politics of cows, the horror of artificial turf or improper goings-on on supermarket travelators, she and her slamming alter-egos are always on a mission to entertain.
7–9pm | FREE / Pay As You Feel
Come along, take to the mic or simply sit back and enjoy the poetry!
Sandwell Stanzas is delivered by AccessAbility Arts, working with Sandwell Libraries & Archives, and supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
