Saturday 7th November 2026
Salisbury Chamber Chorus with Nova Foresta Philhamonic
Saturday 7th November at 7.30 p.m. St. Thomas's Church Salisbury
Composed between 1819 and 1823, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis is one of the most ambitious and profound works in the choral repertoire. Although based on the traditional Latin Mass, Beethoven transforms the familiar text into music of extraordinary range and intensity; he regarded the Missa Solemnis as among his greatest achievements, famously inscribing on the score: “From the heart – may it return to the heart.”
