Big Garden Birdwatch 2026 - Bower Ashton Campus
Bower Ashton Campus, Kennel Lodge Road, BS3 2JT
Sunday 25th January 2026
The Big Garden Birdwatch has grown into the world's largest wildlife survey, with over 137 million birds having been counted since 1979. On Sunday the 25th of January, we'll be meeting at Bower Ashton Campus, in a collaboration with the University of the West of England, to scan the skies and make our contribution to this year's effort.
The premise is simple: we pick our chosen spot, then spend an hour counting everything that comes our way. Lend us your eyes and ears and together let's see what we can find! Once we're out of the field we'll report our results, adding to the nationwide tally and helping conservation scientists build a picture of the health of the nation's wild bird populations. This event is open to all, no matter your level.
We'll be meeting at the North Car Park (///chair.soil.pulse), then we can walk around to the area adjacent to The Hub Cafe for 11am, aiming to start the hour long recording once we have a good spread of people across the area. The following buses stop near the campus: X1, X1s, X4, X6, X7, 505, U2.
This event is free to attend.
For more on the Big Garden Birdwatch (including a run-down of last year's top ten species), else to sign up to take part at home, please visit Big Garden Birdwatch
Hope to see you in the field!
