It's A Wonderful Life (U) 80th Anniversary
Robert Burns Centre Film Theatre, Dumfries, DG2 7BE
Friday 18th December 2026 1:30PM
It’s A Wonderful Life
Frank Capra | USA | 1946 | 130m | U
It wouldn't be Christmas at the RBCFT without a festive screening of Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life.
After George Bailey (James Stewart) wishes he had never been born, an angel second class (Henry Travers) is sent to earth to make George's wish come true. George starts to realise how many lives he has changed and impacted, and how they would be different if he were never there.
There is a suicide theme involving a central character, but this remains suitable at U for its fantasy angle and the (spoiler) eventual reassuring outcome.
