Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators - Webinar VI: Competition Overview
Online
Wednesday 3rd February 2027 4:30PM
All Languages teachers in the UK are invited to join this free interactive webinar, led by the Queen's College Translation Exchange.
This is the sixth in our series of webinars about the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators in 2026 and 2027. Each webinar will focus on different aspect of the Prize, from our teaching resources to the competition itself. This webinar is an opportunity to learn more about the Anthea Bell Prize from the central Translation Exchange team. We will provide an overview of the competition, information on how to run the competition in school, and there will be plenty of time for Q&A.
The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators is a national translation competition run by the Queen's Translation Exchange at the University of Oxford. Throughout the year, registered teachers receive resources for teaching creative translation from six languages: French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish. These resources are designed to help teachers bring creative translation into the MFL classroom as well as to help students prepare for the competition, which will run over several weeks from Monday 25 January to Friday 19 March 2027. The Prize is open to all UK secondary school students (ages 11-18). Teachers can register for the Prize at any time at this link.
Details of how to join the webinar will be sent to registered participants ahead of the event. Any questions, please contact: [email protected]
