Online
Wednesday 20th January 2027
All Languages teachers in the UK are invited to join this free interactive webinar, led by the Queen's College Translation Exchange.

This is the fifth in our series of webinars about the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators in 2026 and 2027. Each webinar will focus on different aspect of the Prize, from our teaching resources to the competition itself. This webinar is an opportunity to meet the competition judges and to hear about the judging process, what they look for in competition entries, and how to prepare students for the competition.

The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators is a national translation competition run by the Queen's Translation Exchange at the University of Oxford. Throughout the year, registered teachers receive resources for teaching creative translation from six languages: French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish. These resources are designed to help teachers bring creative translation into the MFL classroom as well as to help students prepare for the competition, which will run over several weeks from Monday 25 January to Friday 19 March 2027. The Prize is open to all UK secondary school students (ages 11-18). Teachers can register at any time at this link.

Details of how to join the webinar will be sent to registered participants ahead of the event. Any questions, please contact: [email protected]
