Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators - Webinar II: German Film Spotlight
Online
Tuesday 3rd November 2026
All teachers of German in the UK are invited to join this free interactive webinar, led by the Queen's College Translation Exchange.
This is the second in our series of webinars about the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators in 2026-27. Each webinar will explore a different aspect of the Prize, from our teaching resources to the competition itself. This webinar will be led in collaboration with the German Screen Studies Network to celebrate the release of two new resources on translating German film. These resources focus on the films 'Lola rennt' and 'Emil und die Detektive'.
About the Anthea Bell Prize
The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators is a national translation competition run by the Queen's Translation Exchange at the University of Oxford. Throughout the year, registered teachers receive resources for teaching creative translation from German as well as French, Italian, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish. The Prize is open to all UK secondary school students (ages 11-18). Teachers can register at any time at this link.
Details of how to join the webinar will be sent to registered participants ahead of the event. Any questions, please contact: [email protected]
