Youth Climate Justice Forum: Exploring Human Rights, Environment and the Future
27 University Square, Room 1/003, Ireland, BT7 1NN
Wednesday 9th December 2026
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing your generation, but what does it mean for human rights, fairness and the future you want to see?
Join us for an interactive afternoon of discussion, debate and ideas as we bring together young people, academics, human rights experts and civil society representatives to explore some of the most important questions facing society today. Through a series of short talks and discussions, participants will examine emerging issues including artificial intelligence and climate justice, the growing movement for the Rights of Nature, and how to ensure a fair and just transition to a greener future.
At the end of the forum, participants will work together to develop a set of Youth Climate Justice Priorities, highlighting the changes they want to see from decision-makers. A small group of participants will then have the opportunity to represent the forum at a meeting in Parliament Buildings, Stormont, with UN Special Rapporteur on Climate Change and Human Rights, Professor Elisa Morgera, on 10 December.
This will provide a unique opportunity to present the group's ideas directly to a leading international expert and discuss the issues that matter most to young people in Northern Ireland. Transport will be provided for those who attend the Stormont meeting.
Whether you're interested in climate change, human rights, technology, the environment or creating a fairer future, this forum is an opportunity to learn, share your views and help shape the conversation.
Come along, have your say, and be part of the conversation about the future you want to see.
