‘Exits and entrances’: A celebration of Preston’s theatrical history.

A walk led by Mickael Akers. With demolition of the Guild Hall one option under consideration - a fate that previously befell the Empires, Palaces and Hippodromes of an earlier era - now would seem to be a good time to look back and celebrate Preston’s rich theatrical history. From Georgian playhouses to Victorian music halls to opulent Edwardian palaces to Brutalist civic centres, Preston has seen them all. This new guided walk will explore the locations and history of Preston’s lost theatres whilst also appreciating what has survived despite the odds. Drama guaranteed.
